My name is Mrs. Julie Gorup, and I am very excited to be your Third Grade teacher! I recently completed my Master of Arts in Teaching with an Elementary Education endorsement from the College of Saint Mary. This will be my first year of teaching at St. Stephen the Martyr, although I have worked at the school previously as a Teacher Assistant in the Preschool Program.
My husband, Mark, and I have three fun, energetic children of our own - Markus is six, Maddox is four, and Maisy is three. I love to spend time watching my children play sports. Markus and Maddox are involved in basketball and baseball, while Maisy enjoys gymnastics. Besides spending time with my family, I enjoy creative DIY projects, running, and reading.
I believe that children learn in different ways, and the instructional strategies utilized in my classroom will vary to meet the needs of my students. Instruction will be differentiated based on students' academic levels, as well as students' learning styles. Students will be engaged and challenged in order to accomplish academic growth throughout the year.
